WorkLoop is a modern, Slack-like real-time team collaboration and communication platform built with Flutter for mobile and React for web. It provides seamless team communication through instant messaging, channel management, direct messaging, and comprehensive task management features. The application leverages WebSocket technology (STOMP over SockJS) for real-time message delivery, ensuring instant communication without page refreshes. Key features include public and private channel creation and management, one-on-one direct messaging between users, message reactions with emoji support, typing indicators to show when others are composing messages, user presence status (online, offline, away, busy), persistent message history with pagination, rich text messaging with HTML support, message replies and threading capabilities, file attachments supporting images, documents, videos, and audio files up to 20MB, link preview generation for shared URLs, saved messages functionality for quick access, comprehensive task management system with task creation, assignment, status tracking, and task-to-message mapping, announcement system with public and private announcements categorized by type (info, warning, success, error), user profile management with customizable avatars and contact information, secure JWT-based authentication with password reset functionality, Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) integration for push notifications on mobile devices, dark and light theme support with system preference detection, responsive design optimized for both mobile and desktop experiences, unread message count badges, message search and filtering capabilities, user mentions and notifications, message forwarding between channels, image viewing with zoom and pan capabilities, file download and preview functionality, connectivity status monitoring, and secure token storage. The backend is built with Spring Boot 3.2.0, Spring Security for authentication, Spring WebSocket for real-time communication, Spring Data MongoDB for database operations, and MongoDB for flexible document storage. The mobile app is developed using Flutter with Dart SDK 3.10+, featuring Material Design components, secure storage for tokens, HTTP and WebSocket clients, image caching, and comprehensive Firebase integration. WorkLoop enables teams to collaborate effectively through organized channels, direct conversations, task tracking, and real-time notifications, making it an ideal solution for modern team communication needs.
