WHAT IT DOES

RefrigLog is an offline refrigerant service log for EPA 608 certified
technicians who keep the Section 608 record themselves.

Log the service
- Date, technician name, EPA certification number and certification type
- Appliance, refrigerant, and the pounds added and recovered
- Leak inspections, leak repairs, and initial and follow-up verification results
- Leak location, detection method and corrective action
- Photos of the gauge, the leak site or the nameplate

See the leak rate, and what set it running
- Computed per appliance by either lawful method: a rolling average over 365
days, or since the last passed follow-up verification test, and an
annualizing method that caps the window at 365 days
- Measured against 10 percent for comfort cooling, 20 percent for commercial
refrigeration and 30 percent for industrial process refrigeration
- Applicability reads the refrigerant first and the charge second: 50 pounds
for an ozone depleting refrigerant, 15 pounds for a high global warming
potential substitute
- Additions after a retrofit or a new installation are recorded and left out of
the rate

Deadlines, with a reminder before each one
- The repair period, and the longer one where an industrial process shutdown is
required
- Initial verification in the same window, and follow-up verification counted
from the day the initial test passed
- The calendar year chronic leak test, and the owner report date that follows it

The rest of the record
- Sites and appliances, with class, refrigerant and full charge on each
- Recovery and virgin cylinders, with a balance derived from the service
records that name them, never typed in
- A site binder PDF and a per appliance history PDF, both carrying the
disclaimer on the cover page
- Ten languages in the app. The PDF is produced in English, because it quotes
the regulation and translating regulatory wording would change what it says

- Solo and small shop EPA 608 certified refrigeration and air conditioning
technicians
- Technicians who service supermarket, cold storage and industrial process
systems
- Anyone who keeps the Section 608 service record for the appliance owner

YOUR RECORDS STAY ON YOUR DEVICE

Sites, appliances, service history and photos are stored on the phone. There is
no account and no sign in. The app does send crash reports and anonymous usage
statistics, and the standard tier shows ads.

SCOPE

RefrigLog is a record keeping tool. It is not a certification, an EPA filing,
or legal or compliance advice, and it does not guarantee that any appliance or
record meets the Clean Air Act, EPA Section 608, 40 CFR Part 82 or 40 CFR Part
84. You are the certified technician responsible for the work and for the
accuracy of every record; the appliance owner or operator holds the
recordkeeping duty. Thresholds, applicability figures and deadlines are
defaults derived from the regulation. Confirm the current 40 CFR Part 82 and
Part 84 values for your refrigerant type and appliance class, because the rules
change.
