WindowRound is the round book for a self-employed window cleaner. It replaces
the notebook on the van dashboard: every customer on a cycle, today's jobs in
the order you set, and a straight answer to who has paid and who has not.
THE DAY SHEET
Open it in the van and today's round is there in the order you put it in. Each
job shows the address, the price, the access notes, whether it is front only,
and when you last did it. One tap marks it done, skipped, no access or not due.
Done sets the next visit a cycle on from the day you actually did it, so a job
caught up late does not drag the whole rest of the year forward. Skipped and no
access leave the job due, which means it is on tomorrow's sheet and every sheet
after that until somebody does it. Not due puts it back without a mark.
At the bottom of the sheet: how many you have done, what came in as cash, what
is coming by transfer, and what is still owed.
YOUR CUSTOMERS
Name, address, phone, price, and a cycle of two, four, six, eight or twelve
weeks, or any number of days you like. Access notes, key safe numbers, front or
back, how they usually pay, and a photo of the property. Drag them into the
order you drive.
Extra jobs keep their own clock. Gutters twice a year and a conservatory roof
once a year have their own price and cycle, so clearing the windows never
clears the gutters.
WHO OWES YOU
Every unpaid visit, oldest first, with a running total and each debt aged from
the day of the job at 30 and 60 days. Tap a customer and the reminder is
already filled in with their name, the amount and the date, ready for you to
read over and send. Mark it paid in one tap, or record a part payment without
losing what was originally charged.
THE TEXTS
Night before, arrears, price rise, back after a break. Each one is filled in
with the name, the amount and the date, and handed to your own messaging app.
Nothing is ever sent by the app, and no message goes out without you reading
it first.
QUOTES
Count the windows by type at your own rate for each one, get a total in front
of the customer, and send it as a text. When they say yes, the quote becomes a
customer on the round.
THE BOOKS
Money received by month and by payment method, kept apart from what was
charged and is still owed. Jobs done, expenses by category and the miles you
drove. Customer list, money owed and income as PDF. Everything as CSV.
MOVING IN AND OUT
Bring a whole round in from a spreadsheet in one go, with the columns matched
for you. Back the lot up to one file, photos included, and restore it on any
phone. A restore adds what is missing and never wipes what is already there.
WHO IT IS FOR
The one-van window cleaner with fifty to four hundred customers on a four or
six week cycle, paid in cash or by bank transfer. It suits anyone adding
gutter, fascia or conservatory-roof work to the same round.
HOW IT WORKS
Your round is kept on your phone. There is no account to make and no round to
upload, and nothing is sent anywhere unless you send it: a text goes out
through your own messaging app, an export goes where you choose. WindowRound
itself sends crash reports and anonymous usage counts, so faults get found and
fixed.
WHAT IT DOES NOT DO
It does not take payments, run direct debits or collect by standing order. It
does not send messages by itself and it will not chase anybody for you. The
income figures are your own record of what you wrote down: it calculates no
tax, applies no mileage allowance and files nothing with anybody.
The standard tier keeps a round of up to 25 customers with the day sheet, the
cycles, the outcomes and the texts. There is no time limit on it. The full
round book adds unlimited customers, the aged owed board and its reminder
text, quotes, reports, exports and the spreadsheet import. Whichever you are
on, every customer and every visit you have already written down stays there
to read.
