NODDER VR is a short three-level, first-person, Virtual Reality puzzle/hidden-object game for Cardboard VR. Developed in Unity3D for a 4th year University thesis project, it experiments with various puzzle mechanics and a snap-turning system for seated play. It is entirely controlled by looking or maintaining "gaze" at an object with the center reticle for a few seconds (1s to 3s).
The plot of the game stars you as a remote robot operator, or telecommuter, who is piloting the brand new TELEXOSUIT5000 series in a far distant future. You will be given tasks to perform via a text display on your Holographic Heads-Up Display (HoloHUD). There is no explicit time limit, but the third level does have a "lose condition".
TO RE-CENTER VIEW: Look straight down until arrow points forward.
All sounds, music, models, graphics, and code* are created by: Daven Bigelow
Thesis project supervisor: Dr. David Ogborn
*Aside from the tools used to create the game: Google VR SDK, SabreCSG, BFXR, and the Unity3D game engine!
Should work with any Cardboard VR headset (no input required), requires a gyroscope in your phone. Can technically be played while standing, but playing seated is recommended!
