Some things are worth saying in a particular place.

Echo lets you leave a message pinned to a spot on the map — a bench, a summit, a
doorway — and seals it there. The person you left it for can see that something
is waiting, but not what it says. The only key is being there.

When they arrive, it opens.

Leave one where you are standing

Stand at the place and tap once. Echo takes the spot from your phone's GPS, so
the message is pinned to where your feet actually were, not to a guess on a map.
Write what you would say if you were there, choose how close they have to get,
and seal it.

Or leave a trail of them

A trail is several places in order. Each stop carries a clue that leads to it and
a message that opens on arrival — and the next clue only appears once the last
one is found. Walk the route yourself, stamping each stop as you go.

Good for a birthday, an anniversary, a city someone is visiting for the first
time, or a walk you want to take with someone who is not there yet.

What happens to your location

Echo checks where you are at the moment you try to open something, and then
forgets it.

The check happens on the server, so a message cannot be opened early by changing
anything on your phone. What is kept afterwards is how far away you were and how
accurate the reading was — never the position itself. Echo never builds a history
of where you have been, because it never stores where you were.

Location is used only while the app is open. There is no background tracking.

Getting a message

Anyone can open a message left for them. They do not need an account, and they do
not need this app — a link works in a browser. The app makes the walk better:
GPS on a phone is far more accurate than a mobile browser's, so it opens where a
browser would still be searching.
