There was a man, walking aimlessly by the sea. He suddenly noticed an unfamiliar, old shrine. In that moment, he was enveloped in light and found himself in an unfamiliar place.

It was the Sumida River in the Edo period. He had time-traveled! Amidst the pervading hunger and disease, there seemed to be a festival with fireworks.
He was approached by someone who seemed to be a fireworks craftsman, saying, "We're short-handed. Can you help?"
He was tasked with preparing the fireworks. But why had he time-traveled?
