Frozen Pipes - a connection puzzle played on a four by four grid of frozen pipe segments. A tap on any segment turns it ninety degrees clockwise, and every turn counts as one move. A valve sits in the top left cell and an opening in the ice sits in the bottom right cell, and the goal of each level is a continuous line of pipes that joins the two. Segments that are already fed from the valve are tinted with flowing water, so the current state of the line is visible at any moment. The panel above the board keeps three counters: the level number, the number of moves made and the time elapsed since the level started, shown in minutes and seconds. There is no time limit and no way to fail a level, so the puzzle can be worked out at any pace. Straight sections and elbows make up the early levels, while tee and cross pieces appear from level six onward and open up misleading branches. Each level number always produces the same layout, so a level can be repeated exactly. A reset control returns the board to its starting arrangement and sets the move counter and the timer back to zero. A pause control freezes the timer, the animations and the input, and the pause panel offers a return to the same position, a restart of the level or a way back to the menu. When the line is complete, a panel reports the number of moves and the time taken and leads either to the next level or back to the menu. The current level and the best level reached are kept between launches, so the game resumes where it stopped. The menu holds the start control, a settings panel that shows the best level reached and clears saved progress, and an exit control. The game runs in portrait orientation, full screen and without sound.
