192.168.1.10 is hardly ever the main router. It is a fixed address handed to a piece of equipment that has to stay findable.

✦ WHERE IT COMES FROM
Access points, WiFi repeaters and mesh satellites are the usual holders of .10. It sits low enough to fall outside the pool of automatic addresses, and high enough to leave the first few numbers for the router and a server or two.

What it saves you is the typing and the searching, not the permission: it bypasses no authentication and opens nothing remotely.
