Jane Street's fast-paced Figgie card game simulates exciting elements of markets and trading.
Invented at Jane Street in 2013, Figgie was designed to simulate open-outcry commodities trading. Players negotiate trades for cards of different suits over a series of rounds. Like in poker, your objective in Figgie is to make money.
Most of the skill in Figgie is in negotiating trades that benefit both the buyer and seller.
Each Figgie deck contains 40 cards of four suits: two 10-card suits, one 8-card suit, and one 12-card suit. The suit matching each count is random and not known to the players until the end of the round. Only one special suit, the goal suit, has any value. Players attempt to deduce the goal suit while buying and selling cards.
Figgie can be played by 1 to 5 players.
At Jane Street, Figgie is a game we teach and really enjoy playing. Join us!
