The month of Ramadan is the ninth month in the Hijri calendar, and it is a special month for Muslims in which the Qur’an was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, on Laylat al-Qadr, one of the last ten nights of Ramadan.

Makkah Al-Mukarramah is considered the holiest city in the Islamic world, as it is the birthplace of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and the site of the first revelation of the Qur’an to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Therefore, the Islamic world follows the announcement of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to enter the month of Ramadan.
The month of Ramadan begins according to the Islamic lunar calendar, which has 354 days. Thus, it advances at a rate of 11 days annually according to the Gregorian calendar.
