Turn your Android device into a critical safety tool with the DataHub MOB App.
The DataHub MOB (Man Overboard) application connects seamlessly with your vessel's DataHub to provide continuous safety monitoring for crew members. By leveraging your device's network connection, this app acts as a live "dead man's switch," ensuring that if you fall overboard or lose connection, your vessel knows immediately.
How It Works: Once connected to your DataHub’s Wi-Fi or Ethernet network, the app sends a "ping" every second. The DataHub monitors these signals to track your safety status in real-time:
Monitoring: The system tracks your presence actively.
MOB Warning (10 Seconds): If no signal is received for 10 seconds, a warning is triggered to notify other connected watches and devices.
MOB Alarm (30 Seconds): If the signal is lost for 30 seconds, the DataHub triggers a full MOB-Active status. This broadcasts alerts to all connected vessel instrumentation (Chart Plotters, MFDs, etc.) via NMEA2000 and NMEA183, ensuring the helm is immediately aware of the emergency.
Key Features:
Automatic Discovery: No manual IP setup required. The app finds your DataHub automatically via UDP broadcast.
Precision Data: In the event of an alarm, the system records and displays the exact Latitude, Longitude, Heading, and Speed Over Ground (SOG) at the time of the incident.
NMEA Integration: Seamlessly triggers alarms on your onboard marine electronics system.
Simple Controls: Easy-to-use Arm, Disarm, and Test modes.
Smart Resync: Automatically checks server status to ensure your device is properly armed, even if the Hub reboots.
Garmin Companion Support: This app also serves as the essential companion utility for the Garmin Watch version of the MOB app. It allows you to view the status of Garmin users, monitor system health, and act as a secondary display for safety alerts generated by Garmin wearable devices.
