Wheat Stack is a tactile sorting arcade set entirely on the working
floor of a wooden grain elevator. Sheaves of wheat tumble from the loft
conveyor and you decide their fate before they hit the boards. Drag a
clean, ripe sheaf into the right-hand Kernel Silo, drag a chaffed,
husk-tangled sheaf into the left-hand Chaff Vault, and keep the threshline
moving.
A live Throughput gauge climbs back up between rounds and dips with each
miscarriage of a sheaf, so a careless drop slows the cascade until you
earn the speed back through accuracy. A 60-second harvest round folds
into a Stormgust bonus segment every third level. During Stormgust the
sheaves drift sideways on the wind, the spawn rate doubles and every
correct route pays triple, but the timer shortens so panic is part of
the choreography.
The Cogworth Upgrade Bay lets you spend kernel coins on four mechanical
improvements that change how the round actually behaves: Sortspeed Hone
softens the throughput penalty for slip-ups, Auto Sweep installs a
mechanical broom that auto-routes the lowest sheaf for you on a cooldown,
Bunker Maw widens the bunker mouths so drops land truer, and Twine Twist
introduces golden-bound sheaves that are worth double when sorted
correctly.
Sprites and stage art lean into the Wheat Stack aesthetic with a warm palette
of kernel gold, ripe amber, burned honey and saddle husk. The storm
overlay is painted on the fly with drifting dust streaks rather than a
video loop, so every gust looks slightly different. The interface adapts
to any screen: phones get a stacked single-column layout, wider tablets
get a two-column lobby and a three-column upgrade grid, landscape arenas
trim the HUD and bin heights so the falling field stays generous. All
input is pointer-driven drag and drop, with no virtual joystick or menu
chains in the way of the wheat.
