Time goes fast at the start of your timer because you just started. Time goes fast at the end of your timer because you're nearly there.
Time goes so slowly in the middle of your timer that it feels like time stopped. Ten minutes into your pomodoro, fifteen minutes into your 5k run, or twenty minutes into piano practice is when the timer seems to stop dead in its tracks.
Fraction Timer tells you how far through your interval you are as a fraction. When you're in the boring middle, a second timer subdivides the boring part into its own timer. You're always making progress every time you check the timer.
