About this game

Forward Line is a turn based, medium weight, two player strategy board game with a World War II theme. Made with a great deal of research and testing distilled into a unique experience, Forward Line captures the essence of mid-twentieth century war strategy in a game that offers strategic depth, yet easy to learn, that can be played against a friend without a large time commitment.

The object of the game is to capture the cities of the world with your military units. In some ways the game is like chess, in that it is a game of positioning and maneuver; there is no random chance involved in determining whether a unit defeats an enemy unit. There are 10 types of military unit that have unique roles that must be combined to deceive, outrun, outwit and overwhelm your opponent.

Features:
Multiplayer mode over same device or internet.
Single player mode against the AI.
In game tutorial for learning the rules.
This game has ads and an in-app purchase to remove the ads.

Definitely a fun game, however I think some of the balancing is pretty odd, and also I think the base AI options could use some work (difficulty slider aside the city count.) I think some more content would be nice too, like adding buildings (bunkers, barbed wire, trenches maybe?) I do really like the mechanics of the game, and supply chaining is super fun. Would rate 4.5/5 if I could since my issues with the game aren't too crazy.

It's pretty fun, I really like it as a fun little strategy turn based map game. My only gripe is I feel like tanks don't serve much of a purpose. They're outclassed by artillery in land battles and infantry are way more useful with their ability to paradrop and hide in trees. I think they could be made a lot more useful if they could move two spaces, making them good for blitz attacks. Maybe if they can move two spaces on open terrain but not through forests and they'd be more useful.

Thanks for the review. You know, tanks are an interesting historical problem. They have their uses, but also grave vulnerabilities. My experience with them comes from gaming, but I have always found that tanks are an expensive waste unless you have infantry moving ahead of them to scout out anti-tank ambushes. Thanks for sharing your opinion.

Quite good. Essentially a rock/paper/scissors type game in a WWII universe. The AI is OK but can be beaten without too much effort. Also can be played against humans for more challenging action, including Hotseat play, if you're into that (I am). A few minor bugs including score display in Hotseat, which I'm sure will be worked out. Has ads, which are not too intrusive, but not too expensive to eliminate including a cute way to to turn them off during the game (destroy the offending broadcaster)

The main way to raise the single player challenge is to give the AI a few extra cities with the handicap slider. Thanks so much for the great review.
