In the past, the Islamic enthusiasm of city people was not what it is today. Islam in the past seemed more fertile in rural areas than in urban areas.

A. Fertile Islam in the Village

If we look back 30 to 50 years ago, rural communities in our country were generally thicker and stricter in their religion. The beautiful memories of the past related to carrying out religious symbols still make an impression on our minds.

1. Koran

The sight of the children in the village walking to the surau every day to recite the Koran was phenomenal. Boys stay at the surau to learn to read the Koran, or even recite the books of the scholars, even to finish the book Al-Barzanji.

In our ancient villages there were always Koran teachers who sincerely taught children to learn to read the Koran and basic religious knowledge. They diligently set aside time every day to instill a religious spirit in the village.

From a financial standpoint, the Koran teachers in the village are generally not paid, everything is done solely for devotion and a calling accompanied by a sense of responsibility to contribute to giving birth to a generation that is religious and has good morals. Even if there is just a gift, everything is very simple and very perfunctory. Will never be able to make the teacher of the Koran as a rich person.
