About this app

CoCoRaHS Observer for Android is an application that lets registered volunteer Observers submit their daily precipitation reports via their Android mobile device. In addition, users can view past reports to ensure accuracy.

CoCoRaHS is an acronym for the Community Collaborative Rain, Hail and Snow Network. CoCoRaHS is a unique, non-profit, community-based network of volunteers of all ages and backgrounds working together to measure and map precipitation (rain, hail and snow). By using low-cost measurement tools, stressing training and education, and utilizing an interactive Web-site, their aim is to provide the highest quality data for natural resource, education and research applications. They have volunteer observers in all fifty states.

This application is provided by Appcay Software, not CoCoRaHS. Questions, comments, and issues can be reported to us at www.appcay.com.

The saved password feature doesn't work. I save my password, but the next day it says it's incorrect. Clear the field, refill (from a password manager, so it's correct every time), save password, and login is successful. Next day, repeat. Same outcome with the "insecure login" box checked.

The app won't let me log in anymore. It says my username or password is incorrect, but the exact credentials work fine using the online website. Something happened recently with the latest updates that have screwed this up for me. Had been very reliable for yrs until the past 2-4 weeks. Therefore the app is useless right now until this is fixed.

Hi there - You'll need to run version 2.3.6 or newer of the app and if you have Android 6.0 or older you'll need to check the insecure login box to disable a security check since older versions of Android do not support SNI. The CoCoRaHS server recently made changes and requires SSL with SNI support. It wasn't an app change that broke it. :)

Can't login after first time unless you delete the correct login and PW and re-enter. Past suggestion by app dev was Android 6 or below was issue. Incorrect, using Android 10 and there's still an issue. Asking people to use an insecure login is... INSECURE!?! Why not just fix the app so it works on the latest version of Android, and can accept autofill/password managers for security?
