First of all, for clarification, the startup menu is to choose your own language. not the language you want to study. But as for the app, it basically feels like if you made a textbook into an app. The information needed is all there, but it's not very interactive. A lot of reading and memorizing. I think if that's what you are looking for this is perfect. But of you're looking for something that quizzes you on your answers or anything like that then you should go with another app.

I just gone through one lesson and saw some additional info, but I can already say it's my favorite Japanese learning app! It has audio lessons in several languages, 10 minutes lesson is packed with new words, how to use them, and the voices are so great! Thank you for this wonderful app! If it was a paid app, I think I would pay for it! Edit: i found the premium feature and paid for it, deserved!

There is a section called Tavel Japan which has short videos of basic phrases and words you will need to say while traveling in Japan. It was super helpful and I loved how they received each one! They only have maybe 6 videos though, so I'd suggest putting up more. There's also a section with a written dialogue between two people in many situations which I though was helpful at first, but then the situation became very random and not relevant to what I was wanting to learn. But still a good app!
