About this game

Do you have what it takes to become a legendary Powered hero?

In "Heroes Rise," Powered heroes have become the ultimate celebrities, and you dream of joining the A-List–but to get there, you'll first have to take down evil Powered gangs, compete with deadly rivals, choose a worthy sidekick, team up with famous champions, and prove to all of Millennia City that you're a true hero.

"Heroes Rise: The Prodigy" is an interactive novel where you control the main character. In each chapter, your choices determine how the story proceeds.

Will you play as male or female? Gay or straight? Crusade for justice, or gun for money? Will you work as a team with the world-famous Millennial Group, or will you steal their spotlight?

The story is great but in the end the game is definitely set to try and force you to be a certain type of hero especially if your trying to max out the legend score. Also the romance is cringe. Either you romance her or she basically hates you for not letting her seduce you. And what's up with the fact that at the end when you call someone for back up I chose the millennium group since I had an 88% with them and they hung up and docked my relationship score with them by almost 20%.

The story is very linear, with a few paths you could take with very obvious choices. Even then, the choices you make don't really matter because you get the same immediate response. There are a few good parts in the writing, but the rest is mediocre. Instead of being sprinkled throughout the story, exposition is given through lengthy reports or speeches. Worst of all, the story tries really hard to force you into a romance with a certain character, whose 'flirting' borders harassment.

the writing is very good, unfortunately as a game it falls flat. it doesnt do a great job of signposting what choices leverage which attributes, nor does it have enough detail in action descriptions to let you figure out what is the best choice. Paul Wang's infinity series, The Lost Heir Series, and Kyle Marquis' games all have roughly comparable writjng with better game mechanics. try those games first.
