IMconnected (formerly known as MyConnection SG) by IMDA Singapore.
IMconnected is a mobile application that aims to engage consumers through voluntary crowdsourcing to improve the quality of experience for mobile broadband users. IMconnected gathers usage experience from users’ mobile phones, such as broadband speed, latency and coverage on mobile cellular networks such as 3G and 4G, as well as on Wi-Fi networks. This will allow IMDA to have a better understanding of mobile broadband performance and take measures to improve consumers’ usage experience.
IMconnected will collect and send the information in anonymized form back to IMDA. The information will form various sets of data points that can be used to assess the mobile network operators’ performance collectively. Individuals cannot be identified from this data.
The following parameters are periodically collected by this application solely for the purposes stated above:
• Data-Performance statistics such as session throughput, latency, packet loss and data volume.
• Voice-Performance statistics such as experienced network coverage.
• Device Identifiers such as manufacturer and model, operating system and location information.

No more than 10 MB of data per month will be used, excluding the use of speed test function. Battery drain would also be minimal (only 1 - 4% of a phone’s power).
