Cititone was started in 2004 with a primary focus of providing wholesale long distance routes to international providers. Throughout the initial years we experienced great success providing routes to our international partners but we eventually found that the commercial equipment we relied on to switch traffic was not sufficient to handle the volume of traffic we were handling. Due to those limitations, our founders decided to embark on building our own wholesale switching platform that could more reliably handle huge volumes of telephone calls so in 2006 we started develop a high performance, fully redundant SIP and H233 compatible switching platform.
Once we had our own platform working switching millions of minutes of wholesale traffic per day, we quickly realized that our platform had the capability of becoming much more than a simple wholesale switching and billing system so we continued to add features until finally in 2008 we deployed our IP Centrex platform which combines the high performance and redundancy of a wholesale system with the advanced features of a key system or IP PBX.
Although today we still provide wholesale services to companies worldwide, our primary focus is providing convenient, reliable and high quality retail services to business customers throughout Canada using on our platform for both IP Centrex and IP Trunk services.
