Shadowing Player can be used as an audio player, video player, and Tube player.
It supports MP3, WAV, M4A, MP4, MKV, and AVI files.
This app is not only suitable for English learning, such as conversational English or everyday expressions, but also for learning other languages such as Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Spanish, French, and German, or for practicing songs.
Additionally, it includes various subtitle-related features such as subtitle generation, editing, and translation.

Key Features:

All subtitles are displayed alongside the audio or video.
Tapping on a subtitle plays the corresponding part of the audio or video precisely.
Subtitles automatically scroll to match the audio or video.
For audio files, it recognizes voice sections, allowing playback of voice segments only.

It includes professional subtitle (SRT) editing tools, enabling you to create new subtitles for videos or edit existing ones as desired.

The auto-translation feature allows you to translate subtitles and create new subtitle files (SRT) in your desired language.

Subtitles can be played exclusively for parts where they exist.

You can set playback repetitions for each subtitle.

The loop playback feature lets you repeat only the desired part.

Using the "Listen and Repeat" mode, playback pauses for a desired duration before resuming.

Playback speed can be adjusted in 0.01 increments.

Subtitles can be bookmarked, and you can choose to play only bookmarked subtitles.

Create your own audio/video playlist and play them seamlessly.
When playback ends, the next audio/video in the playlist plays automatically.
In combination with the bookmark feature, you can play only bookmarked subtitles from multiple audio/videos.

Two subtitles (in two languages) can be displayed simultaneously.

Landscape mode is supported.

PIP (Picture-in-Picture) mode is supported, allowing you to open a small window for multitasking.

Supports online dictionary links for language learning (e.g., English).
You can also specify online dictionaries for any language you want to use.

When encountering difficult conversations, you can directly connect to 'Google Translate' or 'Chat GPT' for translations.

You can tap on a subtitle line to translate it easily, and each word links directly to an online dictionary.

What is "Shadowing"?
Shadowing is a language learning technique that involves listening to and imitating the pronunciation and intonation of native or fluent speakers.
It is commonly used to improve listening comprehension and pronunciation.

Listening and Repetition: Listen to native speakers and repeat their pronunciation, practicing intonation and sentence structure.
Simultaneous Translation: While listening to native speakers, repeat their words and practice pronunciation and translation simultaneously.
Recording Practice: Listen to native speakers while recording your voice. This is an effective method for repetitive listening and improving pronunciation.
Imitating Videos, Movies, and Dramas: Listen to native speakers in videos, movies, or dramas, and mimic their pronunciation and expressions.


External Storage, READ_MEDIA_VIDEO (required), READ_MEDIA_AUDIO (required): This permission is required to play videos and subtitle files located on external storage.
RECORD_AUDIO (optional): This permission allows the app to record audio for the purpose of speech practice. Users can record themselves repeating sentences and play back the recordings to check their pronunciation.

Ratings and reviews

I'm a big fan of this app and a paid user. I think there are a few areas that could be improved to make it even better: 1. How can I delete linked YouTube videos from the list? 2. When I add YouTube videos, the subtitles aren't always separated correctly. Sometimes the last word of one line gets mixed with the next line. If these issues are fixed, I’d be even happier with the app. ----------------------- thank you for letting me know.

It requires to access all of my media files, why can't you let me select files or folders. And it keeps scanning for minutes still finds nothing

Very cool and useful application, but of course, it requires improvement. But it does not allow you to delete any material.
