Ratings and reviews

A promising start! The game looks to have extensive build and battle options. The graphics are ok but not amazing. Battles often feel sluggish and jerky, like there is a framerate issue. If this is by design, it fails to give the game anything positive. The game will need your time and attention. It is not really casual from first impressions. Looking forward to playing more for now! Rating liable to change!

It has a lot of potential. I'm enjoying the building of your settlement albeit painfully slow due to FTP mechanics. A few bugs encountered but as expected from a new game. The combat is a bit of a let down compared to what you expect from Stronghold. You have no control over your army other than placement but their AI and pathfinding is poor resulting them getting killed due to them prioritising smashing down an irrelevant wall while getting attacked by the enemy.

There's no incentive to play with how slow it is. Usually games like this hook you by giving you stuff to do for a few days at least before you're stuck waiting, but this one doesn't wait. You need crowns to be able to do anything, and it takes forever to be able to get any without paying for them. I was bored within minutes after realizing I couldn't play anymore.
