Cattle and Buffalo are the farm animals that helped India in fulfilling the white revolution by contributing in the milk production. India is the largest milk producer (209.96 million tonnes) in the world and contributes 23% of the global milk production. Milk production in India has grown at compounded annual growth rate of 6.9% from 2014-15 to 2020-21. In order to sustain the milk production and growth rate animal reproduction and its management are to be addressed at national level. Animal Reproductive management failure causes huge economic losses to the farmers in terms of both reduced milk production and health expenses. According to a recent estimate, reproductive problems alone causes economic loss in Assam and Bihar to the tune of INR 3963.1 million and INR 30,500.0 million, respectively.
