This screen dimming app has remained my favorite for years and years now. I'm extremely sensitive to light, so I use it on top of any built-in dimmers/nighttime modes on my phone. It has worked great on any Motorola or Samsung Galaxy phones I've had. The ads are so incredibly minimal that I had forgotten they were even there. I just decided to pay the $1 to get rid of ads, purely because the amount of use I've gotten out of the app over all these years is worth far more than that.

PERFECT!!! if you are looking for an app like this, definately choose this 1 over all of the other options. it has all of the features already unlocked (no need to pay, and it seems like the only ads are in the program itself for settings and stuff), and allows you to use a hex code for the filter color. i don't know the quality of the automatic functions, i haven't tried them.

I use this when I wake up in the middle of the night and it works okay. I have a Pixel 9 phone. When I open a new app, it flashes at full brightness for a split sec and then dims, which is a major flaw. The quality of the filter also is not great - the colors are kind of yellowy and unpleasant. I loved the Dimly app but I can't find it anymore- it was so much better.
