The boating portal marinamap.com, one of the largest port directories on the Internet with over 4,000 registered marinas, also offers a free smartphone app for Android phones. The app uses (if enabled by the user) the GPS location data of the smartphone to show the user the nearest marinas, pleasure craft harbors and anchorages in his area on a map. Alternatively, you can also search at any geographical position by clicking on a world map.

The app also offers a route navigator for the Staande Mastroute (for sailing boats with a standing mast) through the Netherlands with current opening times of bridges and locks.

The app currently shows over 300 anchorages - mainly in Germany, Denmark, the Netherlands, Norway and Sweden. The app also lists around 4,000 pleasure craft harbors and marinas, primarily in the Baltic, North Sea and Mediterranean. As a rule, a link to the website of marinas and sailing clubs is also displayed, so that you can get first-hand information.

The app also provides access to the marinamap.com social network, which allows users to communicate with each other, post notes or reviews of moorings, or follow posts about specific ports.
