We believe that every home search is a conversation.

HomeSpotter is beautiful, mobile-first home search, with built-in chat that makes collaboration fast, easy and fun.

We strive to provide an experience that’s easier and better for consumers and their agents. And we believe it can be done in a way that benefits the broker and MLS, too.

Agents and consumers have, for too long, had to copy, paste, email, and text property links all over the place as they went through their home search.

This didn't make much sense to us.

So, our idea: combine a great mobile property search experience with a familiar text message like interface so that working and communicating with others through a home search was simple.

Imagine texting property photo slideshows, not just links; enabling multiple conversations between your friends and family; even enabling chat between two agents that have full access to agent-only listing information.

Share, save, comment, chat ... messaging meets home search. 100% mobile, 100% better than the old way. That's what the next evolution of HomeSpotter is all about.

This app runs in the background and uses a considerable amount of the battery even if it hasn't been used at all for several days. There should be a setting for you to disable its ability to run in the background. It also just so happens to not work very well at all and every time I reboot my phone the first notification I get is "Homespotter stopped working." This is the kind of app you get when your MLS gives you something for free.

The user interface is hopelessly counterintuitive. Functions that should only take a button press are buried in menus. For example: if you'd like to switch quickly and easily between seeing your saved homes and new homes you can do that by pressing the 'back' button, finding the Homespotter app icon, and dragging it into the trash. Because it's always bugged. Also, why in God's name is 7 days the shortest amount of time I can narrow a search by "new"? 7 days is useless in a sellers market.

EDIT:I found out today that this app works great on my husband's iPhone. My Android, not so much. Heaven forbid you'd want to click and open the property ID number...or edit a listing. Something usually opens, but it's so off kilter you can't use it. Very limited on what an agent can do. I usually resort to using my laptop. And don't bother emailing. You either won't hear back or whoever you reach will pass the buck to whomever was on call. "Not my problem" .
