Let's face it - life is scary. We want to keep our loved ones, our children, our friends and even ourselves safe throughout the day, emotionally and physically. It's a natural instinct to protect the things we love most in our lives, and luckily for us, we have a little extra help to make sure they stay protected. Our Lord is always watching over us, even when we don't realize it or think about Him during the busiest times of our days. But, when we want that extra sense of security or crave a little satisfaction in knowing that God is listening, there are prayers for protection to read, say, and ponder.

Our loving Heavenly Father, I pray that you will protect me and my family from all harm, and from those who would like to harm us. Guard us and also protect us from all the evil that surrounds our lives. We hope you give us your safety and security shield, so please place guards at our gate.
Heavenly Father, we thank you for being our protector. We rely on you for your protection against injury, damage and danger. We put our faith in your name, for we find our complete protection and security in you, our Heavenly Father. And so by faith, we run to You for safety.
Send your angels at war to fight in my name. Protect me from all kinds of traps the enemy has set for me. Strengthen my faith so that I can continue to keep your word, which is the truth. Give me the supernatural strength to continue even when I am weak.
The New Oxford Annotated Bible titles this psalm "Prayer for Deliverance from Enemies" as one of the imprecatory psalms against deceptive enemies. It begins with the psalmist's call in verses 1–5, followed by an extended imprecation (verses 6–19, concluded or summarized in verse 20).
Lord God, I pray for Your protection as I begin this day. You are my hiding place, and under your wings I can always find refuge. Protect me from trouble wherever I go and keep evil away from me.
