It's pretty functional for tracking what you've tried and whether you liked it. However like most user-based review platforms it lacks authority when looking for recommendations. Unremarkable products get high ratings because of name value, and others suffer the inverse effect. There is no requirement that you understand what you're sipping before you rate, so "fancy" confections like Zacapa score 10s while the same dude downrates Smith and Cross. Use as a journal, not a recommender.
