About this app

Multi-Interval Sequence Timer allows the user to create a series of durations to be played. As each duration completes a ringtone is played, the display is updated, and the next timer started.

The most common use of this type of timer is for interval type training. For example, a user might want to walk for 5 minutes, jog for 2 minutes, walk for 3 minutes 30 seconds, and then sprint for 20 seconds. However, there are many other situations where this type of timing is useful. A meeting leader could use it to set up an agenda, with prompts to help move the meeting along and keep from getting stuck on a subject. Someone cooking might use it to simplify making a dish that required sautéing ingredients for a couple of minutes, then adding liquid and bringing the dish to a boil for a few minutes, then reducing to a simmer for several minutes.

Each sequence the user creates is stored, so once created, sequences can easily be selected and played. The user can also edit the stored sequences to make additions, deletions, or adjustments to the durations.

Another helpful feature of the Multi-Interval Sequence Timer is that it offers the user the option to create a record of the sequence being played in their Google Calendar automatically. This allows the user to easily review their activities. A music instructor might use this feature by creating a sequence that is titled by the student’s name. At the beginning of the lesson the instructor starts the sequence, when the time for the lesson is complete, the instructor is alerted by a ringtone, and a record is created in her Google Calendar that the sequence was played. If the instructor needs to recall whether she gave a student a lesson on a particular day, she can simply look at her Google Calendar and see a record of when the sequence was played. She can see precisely when the timer was started and stopped.

Combining multiple duration timers and record keeping could help facilitate fitness progress by keeping track of an athlete’s interval workouts, help the meeting leader become more efficient with time management, or help the chef perfect their signature recipe.

Many of the settings in the application can be modified to customize the timer to the user’s preference.
