Arrow Puzzle Max is a calm, endless brain teaser you can play offline. A board packed with arrows. Every one of them is pointing somewhere. Tap an arrow and it slides away in the direction it faces — but only if nothing is standing in its path.

That is the whole game. No tutorial to sit through, no menus to learn. Look at the board, find an arrow with a clear road out, and let it go. Then the next one. And the next. The board empties itself under your fingers.

HOW IT PLAYS

Arrows leave in the direction they point, and they need a clear lane to do it. Most of the board is jammed at the start — arrows blocking arrows blocking arrows. Free the right one and a whole lane opens up behind it. Free the wrong one and you have made the tangle worse.

You get three hearts a level. A tap on a blocked arrow costs you one. Clear the board without losing any and the level is Perfect. Lose one and it is Clean. Lose two and you Cleared it, which still counts.

Nothing is timed while you play. There is no clock ticking in the corner and no move counter breathing down your neck. Take a minute on a board if you want to. Your clear time is only shown afterward, as a record to beat if you feel like it — and quietly ignored if you do not.

IT KEEPS GOING

Level one is a small board that fits on your screen. By level fifty it is deeper than a single screen and you are scrolling to read it. Past level a hundred and forty the boards keep growing, and they never stop.

Along the way the arrows stop behaving. Long snaking bodies wind across the board. Coils curl in on themselves. Rings of arrows lock the border like a prison wall, and later a second ring locks the inside too. Every fifth level is deliberately meaner than its neighbours.

Levels are built fresh rather than drawn from a fixed list, so there is always another one.

FOUR BOARDS TO PLAY ON

Classic, Dark, Wooden and Paper. Pick one and the whole app follows it — the board, the menus, the buttons, everything. The Paper board is warm cream stock with espresso ink. The Dark board is for playing in bed.
