Support policy

Let’s get the record straight: unless you are using our paid services, we don’t owe you anything. The software is provided as is, with no warranty and no guarantee to work with all ill-configured servers/networks on every device with non-stock Android crippled by phone manufacturers.

We do, however, have great sympathy for any decent person who requires support, and we do try to help. You just have to ask nicely. If you are rude, make demands, feel entitled to premium service or lecture us how to behave, we kindly ask you to uninstall our app and be gone for good. We won’t be saddened by 1-star review and we’ll likely leave a sarcastic reply.

Getting support

☆ Read F.A.Q. on our website, https://xabber.com/faq/
You’ll be amazed how many issues are already covered!

☆ Email info@xabber.com
This is the best way to get tech support. Be nice, and we’ll do our best to provide you help. Please, describe your issue in detail. If possible, attach screenshots and debug logs that would help us understand what went wrong.
☆ Please, DON’T ask for support in Google Play reviews!
Reviews are by far the worst way to reach out to us for tech support. XMPP is a federated protocol, which means the network consists of thousands of servers with different settings, and that there are multiple points of failure. We can’t conceivably know what went wrong from a short message, our replies are limited to 350 characters and the medium does not support back and forth exchange of information.

Been a while since I last used it, can't believe how gorgeous it's gotten. Feature rich, smooth and the most beautiful UI I've seen in an xmpp client so far. Like others, I too would love to be able to use omemo, but not at the cost of the app or the developers getting into any sorts of troubles. Hope there's a work around for that in near future. Thanks for this fabulous tool.

Works great. Upgrade to a new phone this week. Now every time my account reconnect to the server, I get a notification sound several times. It is realy annoying. I tried to find a setting to disable a notification on connecting to the server, but I can't find any. Can you please help me? I just installed the 15 March update. Nothing have changed. Whenever my phone reconnect to my account on the server, Xabber keep on playing the notification sound while connecting. It is very anoying.

Oh, those Chinese phones... Most likely it pings every time persistent notification is updated. Go to app notifications, find "Persistent connection" and set it's importance to "medium: no sound"

Crashes repeatedly after loading and connecting. OK. Worked fine on Samsung S7. Loaded on Pixel 3, logged into my usual server and it crashes immediately after loading and connecting. Occasionally it will stay up and seems to work fine for a while. Then it will crash and repeated attempts to reload are unsuccessful. I have enabled everything possible in the settings. I have deleted and re-installed. I have cleared the cache. I have sent multiple reports after it crashes to where ever those reports go.

All right. Frankly, this is not really helpful. What would be helpful is enabling error logs, and then emailing them to info@xabber.com with description how exactly app fails. As for android crash reports, they offer little help in understanding the cause of the problem and its elimination.

What’s new

Fixed connections bug.
