The "Latin-German school dictionary" of Navigium contains 8,200 words and phrases. It thus covers the basic and advanced vocabulary of all German-language Latin textbooks. All entries are stored in the app itself, so that no online connection is necessary for the use.
With the search-button a search in Latin-German as well as German-Latin is possible: Simply enter the desired word (Latin or German) in the search field and press "Search". For all nouns, adjectives and verbs, the corresponding declination or conjugation class is given. In addition to all verbs, nouns, adjectives and pronouns a form table (declension or conjugation) can be output.
The vocabulary contained in the dictionary is provided with the vocal lengths indispensable for the pronunciation. In addition to the German meanings English, French, Spanish and / or Italian memory aids are displayed. Limiting the vocabulary to the typical textbook vocabulary deliberately avoids overworking the learner.
The app also finds declined and conjugated forms and performs a shape determination. Here are some examples:
* Search for "sustulerat" finds more great (3rd person Sg. Plusquamperf. Ind. Akt.) And sufferre;
* Search for "arcem" finds "arx arcis, f" (Acc. Sg.);
* Search for "forte" finds the adjective "fortis forte" in addition to the adverb.
Navigium contains the full word grammar for each entry:
- all verb forms incl. Deponentien, Semideponentien
- all declined forms of nouns, adjectives and pronouns, incl. increase
Found words can be saved in a watch list and recalled at any time.
The "Latin-German School Dictionary" is based on the phil. Karl Niederau and Philipp Niederau continuously developed and widely used educational software "Navigium, Computer Training Latin". Over a hundred schools regularly use Navigium in the classroom.
