The Campus of the Federal University of Viçosa is a living museum full of peculiar environments that, if well exposed and delimited, can become knowledge for the people who pass through it, even serving for complementary school activities. The space can be used in a way that produces great benefits to every community that surrounds the University, besides providing the UFV the achievement and consolidation of a new role: an active agent in transforming society in its surroundings.
In addition, the UFV-Viçosa Campus has a good infrastructure to attend visitors, employees, students and all urban community of Viçosa and elsewhere with several green areas, parking and a very close relationship with Brazilian society. Observing this possibility it is proposed to insert in the Campus information that helps people to be trained and also to bring knowledge to them in the various aspects of knowledge with emphasis on the historical patrimony and the process of environmental education.
The Life and Memory project was designed by DPS / NEPUT - UFV. Its objectives are to arouse interest and improve the community's interaction with environmental and cultural resources preserved in the Campus of UFV for information (small billboards with the presence of QRcode), in addition to focusing on historical and cultural importance.
The Information Technology Directorate - DTI / UFV, in partnership with DPS / NEPUT, developed a computational platform that allows to register Wikis about the physical space of the UFV and to identify them automatically with QRcode.
This application allows users to scan QRcodes on plaques set up on campus for detailed historical information about locations. Users will also be able, through the application, to locate the map of the university and see which locations are identified with the board. In this way, they can plan cultural tours, tracing itineraries before they even reach the campus.
