The “SOW – A Planting Companion” app is designed to tell you the optimum time to plant crops in your home garden. Choose your location and start planting. Tap the photo of a crop to see more information:

• Estimated days to harvest
• Estimated yield per plant
• Spacing between plants
• Planting depth below ground level
• Suggested varieties
• Special notes as needed

The Alabama Cooperative Extension System, University of Kentucky, and North Carolina A&T State University Extension have partnered to provide crop and planting information for growing zones 6a, 6b, 7a, 7b, 8a, 8b, and 9a. I've had this app for a couple years now and it's never been great, but has been useful in the past. But for weeks now, it just isn't working at all. I even un-installed and reinstalled to see if that worked, but no go. This app could have a ton of potential, if they'd just get it together.

Difficult to navigate. Can only add 1 garden. Will not allow me to add another because I can't enter a date. Would be a great app if it worked.

Very basic information. The only thing this app does is give you a list of what you can plant and when. Everything else is outdated with broken links.

Introduced an optional feature to anonymously track user state and county. Users can opt out at any time, and no personal information is collected or stored.
