Channabasaveshvara Vachanas - Shatasthala Chakravarti Chinmaya Jnani Channabasavanna is Avirala Jnani in the eyes of Prabhudeva, Swayambhu Jnani, Born according to Basavanna: Jnanaparimalavarei, Samyaka Jnani in the eyes of Akkamahadevi, Shatasthala Jnani in the eyes of Sarana. His pen name is Kudalchenna Sangamdeva. He served as Acharya Purusha, the second zero chairperson. Father Shivaswami and mother elder sister Nagalambike. He was born in Basavakalyana - BC. Sh. Born about 1172. His brother-in-law was Swataha Vishwa Guru Basavanna. His life span is very short; Channabasavanna lived only for twenty-four years. Lingaikya in Ulavi in 1168 AD in Kartika month of Rakshasa Nama Samvatsara. Channabasavanna was young in age but not only his opinion was young. While still in his mother's womb, he had received the womb-lingadharana from Basavanna. Chennabasavanna was the one who initiated Isthalinga to Siddharameshwar of Solapur. Chennabasavanna is responsible for giving final approval to each vachana in Anubhavamantapa. Pursuant to the divine order of Guru Basavanna, he took the risk to protect the wealth of Vachana Sahitya. On Nalanama Samvatsara Vaishakha Bahula Bidige Wednesday in Rohini Nakshatra, Chennabasavanna took twelve thousand sharanas with him and left the camp. Mother Akkanagalambike, along with Ganachari Madiwala Machidevara and thousands of devotees carried the knots of vows on the rocks, on horses and on oxen with swords in hand and carried them to the great house of Ulavi from Kalyana. While Chennabasavanna and thousands of surrenderers were marching from Kalyana to Ula, the places where Lingayat Maths were established for the protection and promotion of the Vachanas are Thusawavira Mutt in Hubli, Ole Math, Thimmasagar Chennabasavanna Temple in Vidyanagar, Chennabasavanna Temple on Unkala Lake, Ulavi Chennabasavanna Temple in Dharwad etc. Chinmayajnani Chennabasavanna is one of the Seven Pramathas of Lingayat Dhamma. Chennabasavanna, who shone as an Acharya Purusha in the twelfth century as the foremost among the devotees of Kalyana, embodied devotion, knowledge and asceticism. Chennabasavanna is known as Aviralajnani, Sadmalajnani, Shatusthala Sthapanacharya, Divyaguna Sampanna.
