About this app

Be prepared by downloading the free AA Roadservice App. The Roadservice app now comes with an integrated AA Roadwatch map and a tracker so AA Members can follow the journey of the Service Officer who is coming to their aid.

If you’re an AA Personal, Business Care or Taxi Care Member you can request help at any time and anywhere in NZ¹.

App features:

- Enter your Membership details and set up the app so it’s ready to request AA Roadservice when you need it
- Request a callout in a few short steps: confirm contact information and number plate, and tell us what’s wrong with the vehicle
- Get status updates, track the Service Officers attending the job and send updates back to our Dispatch team
- Check nearby vehicle-related services, such as garages and battery stockists
- Use the handy emergency torch function through the phone camera flash if stuck in the dark
- Use the Roadwatch feature to monitor road conditions and plan any journey better
- Use the Accidents area of the app to record details about what happened and store photos.

Ratings and reviews

This app does not make the process of a callout quicker and easier. Don't bother. Tracking of callouts is pointless when the app just tells you the current time as the estimated response. Submitting callouts results in aa caling you half an hour later to confirm your address when location data tracking should be able to provide this. A well designed system would allow this app to bypass the call center and get you quicker service.

DO NOT USE THIS APP TO BOOK A BREAKDOWN. Call *222. I had a breakdown. Booked it with this app. Kept an eye on the app to ensure it was updating. It was a long weekend so I thought I would be patient, thinking the AA would be busy. After an hour and seeing my job had not been assigned to a Tech, I called *222 to be advised that my breakdown request was not received. I went on the website to request a callback so that I could feedback about the app. It's been 2 weeks and no call back.

Pointless using this AA APP as they don't pay much attention to the info you input. For a company that relys on accurate location info from the customer, the gps location shown in the app is not passed onto the contractor doing the job. So not only do you have to suffer the mental anguish of your vehicle breaking down, but are put through more hassel because the operator who rings you anyway asks for your location again. Then takes 15 min trying to type it into their computer.
