About this app

ItinerAppia paves the way to the discovery of the territory of the Archeological Park of the Ancient Appia and to the fruition of its precious historical, archeological and natural contents. It offers the interactive experience of an unfolded museum going from the city center to beyond the outskirts, leading to the discovery of a wide treasure made of art, culture and biodiversity: 5 archeological parks crossed by over 50 itineraries taking to 150 points of interest to be experienced. Aqueducts, funeral works, road engineering constructions, religious and civil buildings within an area of 3500 hectares among the districts of Rome, Ciampino and Marino.
Inside the whole park area, visitors can find a series of information panels with QR codes to be scanned by using the app, so to have access to multimedia contents: descriptions, audio hearings, images, maps and details.
By photographing the QR codes on every panel, it will be possible to have information about each monument or archeological site of main interest or to start the itineraries proposed. Each itinerary is introduced by data on its practicability, a general description and a list of the stops included.
The green QR codes give access to the itineraries, the yellow QR codes refer to the monuments while the orange QR codes welcome you to the Park.
ItinerAppia can also be easily available from home through a web territorial platform which includes all the contents provided by the Direction of the Archeological Park of the Ancient Appia.
