The School Health and Wellness Programme (SHWP) is a flagship initiative of the Government of
India, jointly led by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) and the Ministry of
Education (MoE). It aims to promote the health and well-being of school-going children through
structured health education and activity-based learning.
The SHWP training app is a user-friendly digital tool designed to support Health and Wellness
Ambassadors (HWAs) in understanding and practicing their roles by enabling participation in pre[1]
and post-tests, recording classroom activities, and referring school-going children for health support.
Additionally, it helps Master Trainers understand and practice their responsibilities by facilitating the
creation and management of HWA training sessions. This app is now available on both Android
and iOS.
Key features of the SHWP training application include:
• Register as a HWA or Master Trainer, manage training sessions, and switch roles effortlessly
• Complete pre- and post-tests during the HWA training
• Recording of classroom sessions and uploading pictures from the session
• Referring students to public health facilities such as AFHCs, etc.
• Access to IEC materials across 11 thematic modules
• Create and manage HWA training sessions
• Overview of trainings / classroom activities and referrals
An active internet connection is required only for login and data sharing and the app does not collect
personal data and is not linked to any external site.
The SHWP training app enables both Health and Wellness Ambassadors (HWAs) and Master
Trainers to understand and practice their responsibilities by efficiently recording and tracking their
activities.
