Jean-Marie Vianney, said the Cure of Ars, born May 8, 1786 in Dardilly (near Lyon), and died August 4, 1859 in Ars-sur-Formans (Ain), is a French Catholic priest revered by the Church. He was parish priest of Ars (now Ars-sur-Formans) for 41 years.
He is named patron of all the priests of the Universe in 1929.
