You may lose access to your network provider due to a weak signal, downtime, or phone bugs. If you're actively using the phone and you're not on WiFi, this is immediately obvious. But if you're using the net on WiFi or are not using the phone at the time, you may lose or get too late important phone calls, messages, emails, and other notifications.

Cell Connection Monitor allows you to know as soon as you need if your connection no longer works, by making short requests over the cellular network and beeping when those requests fail.

The app runs in the background with a user-configurable frequency, which can be adjusted between 5 seconds and 8 hours.

The app tries to respect the “do not disturb” setting.

Caveats:
1) It will consume some data
2) It will consume the battery to some extent. With a refresh interval of 15 minutes or more, this shouldn’t be a problem, but a refresh of 10 seconds is probably too much regarding data and battery usage, as well as the value provided. Actually, even 1 minute seems reasonable.
