When it works it's great. Unfortunately it rarely works. Every time I've used my Meat stick I've run into problems. The app won't connect, or the cloud won't connect, or the wifi bridge won't connect, or any combination of the above. Right now I'm smoking and the app is fine on an old phone. Doesn't work at all on my Pixel 6a. Why? No idea. It just glitches and crashes every 5 minutes or so. I want to love this product, but I'm having a very hard time getting there.

I was eager to use the Meat Stick for hassle-free cooking, but the app's failure to connect reliably to the wifi bridge, despite a strong wifi signal, turned it into a major frustration. The constant need to check the connection undermines its convenience and effectiveness, distracting from the cooking process. Until these issues are addressed, this gadget is more trouble than it's worth. A disappointing experience overall.

Update 09282022: Looks like the app may have gotten an update to include the exact information I request below in terms of the user interface! Also, looks like the first MS I got may have been defective and they replaced it without question! Again, 5 for customer service! Support gets a 5! I have had an issue my MS and they took my issues seriously! The MS requires Location to be turned on on your phone when you run the app. I do not like this. Support says that it is required to make the Bluetooth work correctly but I am unsold. My Bluetooth headset works just fine with it turned off. Further, it is doing Cloud Saves without specifically asking me. Beyond this I do not think the app follows the Law of Least Surprise. When you start the app it comes up to a blank Now Cooking page. What does this mean? What am I supposed to do next? Instead of a blank screen in place of this it should offer a suggestion as to what you might want to do: Please turn on your MeatStick or Use + to add a new device. Once the app and cooking actually get started it's really cool!
