Move Metairie Tracking Forward is a first-of-its-kind app that provides real-time information about trains in Metairie!
With a simple approach and innovative technology, our app provides users quick notice of train traffic to help you plan ahead, avoid delays, and enjoy a better quality of life.
Download the app to receive:
• Advanced notice of trains approaching Metairie Road;
• Estimated time until trains arrive at the Metairie Road crossing;
• Alerts on the direction of train travel;
• Estimated time until the train crossing is clear; and
• Live camera view of the railroad crossing.
This app was developed in partnership by:
• Jennifer Van Vrancken, Jefferson Parish Councilwoman;
• Gresham Smith, a design and consulting firm;
• New Orleans Regional Planning Commission; and
• Jefferson Parish.

I appreciate the effort, but for someone that travels down Central Ave a lot, this would be very helpful to have this location with it's plethora of tracks. I'm giving this 3 stars because at least someone is trying to put an app like this together. I really hope that more locations are chosen soon. If you get stuck at Central, there are no real shortcuts to go anywhere other than all the way back to Jefferson Highway. Thanks

Glen Picadash, thank you for taking the time give us feedback. We are hoping to expand, but Metairie Rd was intentionally chosen as the first crossing. Just downloaded. And a min after it said a train always about to cross. So lucked out. But I would say the next crossings that should be added are Labare and Central. Especially Central, I catch trains there all day long.

Kim, thank you for the favorable review. We are hoping to expand, but Metairie Rd was intentionally chosen as the first crossing. Labarre and Central are definitely on our radar, and we are hoping to deliver solutions in those locations. We will share your review with the Parish. Safe travels!

Fabulous idea, but definitely need Labarre and Central. Or at least the ability to move the map so I could somewhat time the train from place to place.

Melissa, thank you for taking the time give us feedback. We are hoping to expand, but Metairie Rd was intentionally chosen as the first crossing. If you want to time the train, I'd suggest using the ETA provided when the train is approaching and the arrow which shows the direction. Moving the map will not provide any additional information. Thanks!
