Let's play Hanafuda (Koikoi), a traditional Japanese card game.

Koi Koi is a game of Hanafuda played by two players, where you match the cards in your hand (same month, same plant) with the cards in the field and make them your cards.

There is no limit to the number of rounds you can play, so you can continue playing until your LIFE runs out, and compete for the number of sentences you earn.
At the beginning of the game, you have 25 points, and every time you cut a card, you spend 1 LIFE. If you win a yaku, your LIFE is added to the number of sentences of that yaku.
If the CPU wins, your LIFE is reduced by the number of sentences of the role you won.

Ratings and reviews

The game is rigged. No matter what, on the 3rd round, your opponent ALWAYS has 2/3 Lights and will ALWAYS get the 3rd in the next 2 turns. I tested this in 40 games with a 90% accuracy rate to that assumption. The developer made a really good game otherwise, but unless you like being beaten no matter how good your cards are, do mind that the game was rigged from the start. Had fun tho :) 3 Stars seems fair for a game like this.

I love this app! The design, music & animation are gorgeous, and I love the paintings when you win! There is one glitch - you can't turn off the voice. There is a volume control for the voice, but it doesn't work - turning it all the way down or up has no effect at all. Also, I would like a way to pay for an ad-free experience - I had to take one more star off since a new ad popped up, during gameplay. TERRIBLE. I know this is the first version, so I am hoping these issues are in development :)

I love KoiKoi. And this is one of the better presented versions of it on the store. Now I am quite a skilled player, but unfortunately, this version is designed to frustrate the player. You don't play traditional rounds. Instead you have life points which decrease every time you play a card, then decrease further when you lose against the AI's hands; Which are also rigged in its favour. I've never seen perfect hands and lucky draws so regularly.
