About this app

PilotTraining.ca provides online instruction and preparation for aviation written examinations. Our courses can be used as credit toward the Transport Canada requirement for ground school and we'll give a recommendation for the exam provided the student proves he is ready for the exam.

Much more than just practice questions online, we offer the most convenient way to complete ground school. Since 1999, thousands of students have completed their written examinations thanks to pilottraining.ca!

Courses are completed by using multimedia tools such as video (over 700 hours worth now on the site), audio mp3, presentations, animations, web pages, and automatic correcting and referenced practice questions. Tied together using a learning management system that is also compatible with mobile devices.

The PilotTraining.ca app allows users to download and view videos and audio files offline. Quickly and easily. The app requires an active account with pilottraining.ca.

The app does exactly what it says. Although, when I'm watching the training videos I like to go in and out of the app to take notes, however, after going in and out of the app a few times it just freezes and I have to close and open it again, not a big deal but annoying to scroll through all the lessons to find the video I was on. That's the only bug I've found. (though I mostly use the website on my computer) one suggestion I have would be to add your progress like it has on the website.

The content is great, but the app is old and glitchy. It looks like it hasn't been updated since they first designed it YEARS ago, and definitely isn't up to modern design/reliability standards. It's unintuitive, lacks features, and just generally feels old. Same with the videos, they look dated. The content is still good but it all(app+videos+website) would be SO much better and effective today if they all had a fresh coat of paint.

Content is ok but the app crashes A LOT. Any time the screen roatates it crashes. I download a video and try to listen offline it crashes after 2 minutes, sometimes just 30 secs later. I delete the video and re download and it just crashes. I connect to a blue tooth speaker, it crashes. Before it would crash and offer a send feed back option, now it just closes the app with nothing. The worst video ive had crashes with so far is 9. Air space structure. Cant get 30 secs of video time.
