Ratings and reviews

Pleasantly surprised as a Nest Protect user for 10 years. While there is not a 100% feature parity between the two ecosystems Kidde gives a majority of essential functionality for a smart smoke and carbon monoxide detector. A few minor additions and improvements would be the following: app dark theme, a "heads-up" mode similar to Nest where a detection would first be announced in a spoken form instead of the full alarm, and scheduled alarm testing periodically to verify audible alerting.

The app and the devices once completely installed are amazing. However, if you have to change your internet or a device drops off of listed devices in your home, the reinstall is inconsistent, inefficient, and cumbersome. a qr code was damaged on the device.But we have the card with the qr code. when trying to reinstall the instruction, say, put the QR Code in the box. But there is no box appearing on the app. trying to install manually requires bluetooth, but the device is not being picked up

would rate zero stars if I could. Avoid these products at all costs. We have replaced all 6 of our alarms twice in the past year (costing us well over $1000) since all of these alarms constantly go off for no reason. We have purchased both smart and regular alarms and had electrican install them. Both the alarms and app are useless. Complete waste of money. Avoid at all costs.
