The app just decided to stop working without a reason, although I had it top up recently. Reinstalling didn't help, it says E wallet linking failed. I topped up again and bought a monthly pass, it took the money but still doesn't work. Made me stuck in the metro entrance and the support tells me to call tomorrow. I can't even buy a temproary card to go home. Update: I switched from English to Spanish and the app started working.

The app and the electronic public transport payment system is horribly bad. TMB has commited themselves to a system that is unfixable and to change it would be incredibly expensive. There are numerous effective and easy to use public transport payment methods that could have been used as a model (eg London) but Spain is different.

To me this seems ussles(if you are visiting), you can't create an account if you don't have a passport or a Spanish id card, meaning that EU members have no way of creating an account. As for the apps actual use, if you want to associate your card to do direct payments you need do download ANOTHER APP( (why can I not just charge it directly?). The other way to charge it is to buy a fiscal card and use the app to store it. Which defeats the entire purpose and practicality of having an app.

Hi! You can identify yourself with your country's identity card. You should choose the passport option and indicate the number. The electronic wallet app is what allows you to validate with your mobile. If you travel with a physical card, you can also use the app to recharge it and check the information about your trips/remaining days. Nacho
