A Muslim must believe that every event that occurs in this universe does not escape the provisions of Allah SWT. This belief is one of the six pillars of faith, namely faith in Allah's destiny.
It's just that this belief does not mean that a person then resigns himself to not having the will to choose. Because God's destiny for humans, can be divided into two. That is destiny that humans cannot refuse and destiny that humans are given the will to choose (ikhtiyar). This is as emphasized in the Qur'an:
There is no calamity that befalls on earth and (not even) on yourselves except that it has been written in the book (Lauhul Mahfuzh) before We created it. Verily, this is easy for Allah (22) (We explain this) so that you do not grieve over what has eluded you, and so that you are not overly happy about what He has given you. And Allah does not like anyone who is arrogant and proud (23) (QS. Al-Hadid: 22-23)
On QS. Al-Hadid verse 22, Allah confirms that what happens in the universe, everything is the absolute will of Allah, where humans cannot refuse it. The concept of destiny, in the science of faith is called destiny kauni.
Whereas in QS. Al-Hadid verse 23, Allah explains that humans can be classified into two groups in responding to destiny kauni. That is between the commendable party and the disgraceful party. This choice that Allah has made for human beings, in the science of aqidah is called destiny syar'i.
