About this app

EIACP (Environmental Information, Awareness, Capacity Building and Livelihood Programme was formerly known as Environmental Information System (ENVIS). It serves as a single-stop web-enabled repository of comprehensive environmental information with collection, collation, storage, retrieval and dissemination of the same through a nationwide network of ENVIS Hubs and ENVIS Resource Partners (RPs).

The vision of the Environmental Information Awareness Capacity Building and Livelihood Programme (EIACP) are:

1. To disseminate information on wildlife sciences and provide information for decision-making at the apex level relating to wildlife conservation and Protected Area management.
2. To support and facilitate the diverse group of clientele from policymakers to researchers and Industries and common man at national and international levels on a possible range of environmental data and information through a nationwide web-enabled network.
3. To provide a comprehensive environmental information database under the identified subject areas, local conditions and issues pertaining to the environment of the country.
4. To promote awareness on issues like curbing single-use of plastics or any other environment-related issue of urgency/importance through the Swachhta Action Plan (SAP), which is an Inter-Ministerial initiative.
5. To be involved in the Mission LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment) conceptualized by the MoEFCC.
6. To make an efficient tool to protect and conserve our ecosystems and biodiversity that transforms young India with enhanced skill and employment through conducting the Green Skill Development Programme (GSDP).
7. To develop green skilled youths having technical knowledge and commitment for sustainable development, which will help in conservation of ecosystems and biodiversity. Also, to aid sustainable livelihoods of the tribal population, especially in NER based on traditional knowledge and crafts.
8. To conserve and restore the health and resilience of Wildlife Protected Areas/ Zoos with the support of green skilled youth.
9. To ensure ecologically sustainable use of biodiversity and benefits the current and future generations of India.
