About this app

The Royal Palace, a magnificent aristocratic residence, was built by the Balbi family (1643 - 1650), extended by the Durazzo dynasty (at the end of the seventeenth century), and later adorned with splendour by the Savoys in the nineteenth century.

This app contains various sections to help plan your visit to the Royal Palace. Visitors can explore the grand atrium adorned with eighteenth-century stuccoes, the impressive main courtyard, the picturesque roof garden, and the elegant second-floor aristocratic apartment, which houses spectacular state rooms, including the Throne Room, the Ballroom, and the Audience Chamber. These rooms feature a mix of fixed decor (frescoes and stuccoes) and furnishings (paintings, sculptures, furniture, and objects).

Genoa’s Royal Palace forms part of the National Museums of Genoa, together with Palazzo Spinola.
