About this app

This is a beta release of the meshtastic.org project. We'd love you to try it and tell us what you think. You'll need to buy an inexpensive ($30ish) radio from a variety of vendors to use this application, see our website for details. We don't make these devices.

***Please*** if you have questions: post on our forum and we'll work together to fix them (we are volunteer hobbyists).

This post is a good place to get started.

We would really appreciate good Google reviews if you think this is a good project.

Works well. Some of the settings could be more descriptive. EG: The settings for serial RX/TX don't actually indicate that they are GPIO pin numbers... currently it's just a box labeled "TX" or "RX", and a random number. Which is confusing when trying to connect a ttl converter, since the pins on the board that are clearly labeled TX and RX, AREN'T actually what you want to be connecting to.

Good app. Works well in testing, just trying to get things ready to deploy Update. The Android app (and maybe the iOS app too) really needs a way to share an individual channel to another device without having to copy the entire configuration using the "Complete URL". It seems possible to do this with the Web App UI but flipping between WiFi and BT to grab the QR code is really inconvenient.

As an experimenter, I really like this app. There's certainly some room improvement like successful messages reporting back as failed and trace-route still hit and miss also it seems like location is only available when generally and universally enabled instead of "only while using app". Still all these are just improvements I would like but overall it is a very fun and useful app. Meshtastic LoRa continues to surprise me, I've made numerous contacts over 20 miles with the little 2" antenna!
